Acovi composite consists of natural minerals and acrylics. The composite is molded or glueed to the final shape. This provides a material with outstanding durability.
Composite has been a preferred material in our kitchens for many years. The complete porous surface is therefore perfect for bathroom products such as bathtubs, washbasins and countertops in the bathroom.
Copenhagen Bath® specializes in bathroom products in composite. The special feature of Copenhagen Bath®'s registered trademark Acovi® composite is that it is solid and does not contain stones and therefore can withstand cleaning products such as, for example, lime remover as opposed to composite containing stone.
One of the special advantages of massive Acovi® composite is that it is easy to repair even if it is unfortunate to break a flap, which can be more difficult for composite products that are only surface-treated.
Acovi® requires only minimal treatment to look great. In the daily cleaning, it is enough to wipe the Acovi® product with a soft cloth and warm water.
After wiping, it is recommended that you dry with a dry cloth. This is done to avoid lime stains.
The entire surface should be cleaned occasionally. Use lime solution product such as household vinegar. Let it dissolve any lime for a few minutes, then wipe the product with a mildly abrasive cleaner, eg. a gentle scouring cream applied in circular movements until dirt and lime are dissolved and the surface feels slippery. Use a cloth or a white scouring sponge. Rinse with water and dry with a soft cloth.
Should the basin become very dirty, or if there have been yellowish deposits of lime, do the following:
With the accompanying white fungus sand the surface in soft circular movements until the surface is clean. The surface is polished with a soft cloth and scouring cream in circular movements until it is smooth and without slip marks.
Wipe the product with Stone Sealer from Copenhagen Bath. The sealant is applied evenly with a dry clean cloth. Allow the product to dry for 15 minutes.
Do not use coarse scouring sponge for daily cleaning. Strong abrasives and the green side of a scouring sponge may only be used when removing more difficult spots.
Chemicals that can not be used on Acovi® include:
Petroleum-based products, chlorine, acetone, drainage cleaner, mineral turpentine etc. These products can damage the surface. Rinse immediately with water if these chemicals should affect the product.
Personal hygiene products and cosmetics will not ruin the surface. If a nail polish accidentally occurs on the surface of the sink, it can be removed with nail polish remover without acetone - rinse with water.
Treatment of scratches and broken surface
To treat any scratches or damaged surfaces on your Acovi® product, the area should be sanded with Sandpaper 240, 400 and 800. Start with the lowest number (coarse) and follow with a higher number (fine) in that order. Make the surface moist before grinding begins to avoid any inconvenient grinding dust.
